The only brewery on Whidbey Island, Flyer's Brewery and Restaurant, serves greats brews and food in their aviation themed space. Dedicated in part to the memory of owner Jason Tritt's grandfather, the memorabilia and atmosphere of military aviation also pays homage to Oak Harbor's own Naval Air Base. Model planes hang from the ceiling, propellers decorate the walls, and Amelia Earhart's picture marks the ladies room.

Aviation influences even the beer, each of which have an apropos label such as Heat Seeker Hefe, Afterburner IPA, and Barnstormer Brown. The brewery has collected many awards over the years, medals for which are displayed proudly behind the bar. The bar's glass back also allows for a look into the brewhouse where you can often catch brewmaster Tony Savoy working on a batch of one of the six year-round brews, or one of the many seasonals the brewery offers. We highly recommend the Pacemaker Porter, a full bodied dark ale with a perfect blending of coffee and chocolate notes, warmed by a rich malted barley palate.

Flyer's Brewery is one of Oak Harbor's favorite local haunts, and the place was even pretty busy during happy hour on a fall weekday. Once a month, the brewery hosts a brewer's night with live music, and this upcoming Friday, November 22nd, Flyer's will celebrate its 8th Anniversary with what will be a great bash. Stop in during Happy Hour from 2-6 every day for $3.50 pints and $3.00 off appetizers. Take to the skies and enjoy a pint on the island.

Flyers is our preferred Brewhub for Whidbey Island, including the following hikes:
  • Ebey's Landing & Fort Casey

I would do just about anything for a Pacemaker right about now!
